OLD MUSIC PREMIERE: SPICE GIRLS - STRONG ENOUGH (DEMO)

A demo of an old Spice Girls track has leaked online.

The previously-unreleased ‘Strong Enough’ was reportedly uploaded to YouTube, after being discovered on a cassette tape sold by Scary Spice Melanie Brown at an auction.

Featuring vocal contributions from all five members of the all-conquering girlgroup, ‘Strong Enough’ has a funky 90s R&B pop vibe to it and interpolates Tom Tom Club’s 1981 Top 10 hit ‘Wordy Rappinghood’.

“What You Need” was INXS’ first top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, reaching No. 5 on April 12, 1986. The band had notched five earlier hits between 1983 and 1985, but none went higher than No. 30. Arguably, “What You Need” changed the chart fortunes of the band. After its success, the group tallied a string of smash singles, including six consecutive top 10 hits between 1988 and 1991.

The band’s most recent entry was “Pretty Vegas,” in 2005, which reached No. 37 on Oct. 22, 2005.

“Who Am I To Disagree?” 30 years ago today (May 14, 1983), Eurythmics’ No. 1 single” Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

It was the first charting single in the U.S. for the duo (Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart), and their only No. 1 on the Hot 100. The pair has charted a total of 15 singles on the tally, three of which went top 10: “Sweet Dreams,” “Here Comes the Rain Again” (No. 4) and “Would I Lie To You?” (No. 5).

Lennox went on to have a successful chart career of her own as a solo artist, notching six Hot 100 hits between 1989 and 2008.

The house is located on a rehabilitated brownfield site and is a modern re‐interpretation of one of the oldest housing typologies in North America, the Native American Pit House.
